About 14 years ago, I become a Mommy to my beautiful daughter. The doctor told me to prepare for a whopping 8-to-9-pound bundle of joy. My family, friends, and I splurged on a variety of clothing from high-end to everyday wear to help welcome my first child into the world, which in hindsight was not practical. After 10 hours of labor, I welcomed my daughter into the world weighing 5-pounds and 8 ounces. She wasn’t the 8-to-9-pound baby the doctor predicted I would deliver, which is a common mistake, but nonetheless I was happy to have delivered this healthy baby girl. Even in those moments of pure happiness, I couldn’t help but think that I was starting off this journey of parenthood completely unprepared. I didn’t have the comfortable, well-fitted clothing to bring her home in or clothing for everyday use, because everything we purchased or received as gifts wouldn’t fit her for at least 6 to 7 months. Birthed from frustration, (no pun intended) I had an aha moment and OneZnality was born. I realized that a onesie was one of the few remaining baby products on the market that hadn’t received a much-needed makeover. I spent the next 14 years perfecting an adjustable onesie. My goal was for OneZnality to be staple product for all parents to have in their home for their bundle of joy.

Melissa
Melissa is an island girl at heart, born in the Caribbean West Indies on the island of Trinidad & Tobago. Her family moved to the United States when she was an adolescent and she grew up in Queens, New York. She attained an undergraduate degree in Finance from St. John’s University and her MBA from Wake Forest University. She currently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina where she is watching her inspiration behind OneZnality, her daughter, grow up right before her eyes. When Melissa is not working on OneZnality, she is working for an organization that builds affordable housing for low-income families. Melissa enjoys traveling, all things outdoors, and spending time with family.
